A sketch done based on the impression from the previous week, when attending Gestalta's first shibari rope bondage workshop.
After doing a few heavily saturated pieces recently, I was yearning to revisit the lightness of watercolour scheme. And there's no better subject than Gestalta. With her elegant dancer like stance and that genuine impression of remote attachment to the physical world, she makes the perfect figure.
Like a temporary container made of ice, designed to hold the dissolving ink and water, but in time, will inevitably blend, fade, then vanish into the thin air.
The style is much closer to my heart, for its resemblance of the oriental minimalism representation.
The Chinese character '演' is pronounced 'Yan' with 3rd tone. Meaning to perform, to express, and etc.
This was planned as a trinity piece, containing 2 other sections with different poses, which I'll see if I can finish.
